Huiatt connections, part 3

Third and perhaps final part of this Huiatt connections thread. I say final because I found an obituary that ties all of these connections together!  Better than winning the lottery for me!  Earlier this week, I spent time searching in the Fort Dodge, Iowa online newspaper archive.  This archive searches many newspapers and more in the Fort Dodge, Iowa area.  Like most online newspaper searching, the indexing is not perfect.  I found the obituary below, not by searching for the surname "Huiatt" (you won't find it that way), but searching for the name "Dillow," one of the suspected cousins.  It was near the end of the 109 results.  My transcription follows the article.  In this, we find that Louisa Huiatt died with seven children living.  The article only lists six!  Anyway, they are: William Wiseman, C.H. Huiatt [Charles], U.G. Huiatt [Ulysses Grant], Mrs. Ephraim Dillow [Mabel Rogers], Mrs. John Osborne [Cora Huiatt], Mrs. John Glakler [Nellie Huiatt].  It also states that she was married three times.
Mrs. Huiatt Passes Away

Mrs. Louisa Malvira Huiatt passed away Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Osborne, near Otho, where she was visiting.  Mrs. Huiatt was born in Kentucky April 15, 1837 and died October 30, 1915.  She came to Iowa in 1860 and has re-sided in this state ever since, the past thirty five years living in the vicinity of Mcguire’s Bend south east of town.  She was married three times and leaves seven children to mourn her loss.  The children are: Wm. Wiseman, Otho, C.H., and U.G. Huiatt, Mrs. E. Dillow, Mrs. John Osborne, and Mrs. John Glakler.  The funeral services were held from the McGuire Bend church Monday conducted by Rev. Lester Heck,a nd the interment occurred in the McGuire Bend cemetery.  Although Mrs. Huiatt was not very old, she was a great, great grandmother, and besides her own immediate family leaves a large circle of relatives.

This is how the family used to look to me:
Jacob Huiatt b. 1812 SC
wife: Louisa Durrett b. 1837 Kentucky or Illinois
children:
Ulysses Grant Huiatt b. 1868 IA
Charles Hampton Huiatt b. 1870 IA
Edward Oscar Huiatt b. 1874 IA
John J. Huiatt b. 1877 IA
Cora L. Huiatt b. 1879 IA
Elmer Ellsworth Huiatt b. 1881 IA
Nellie M. Huiatt b. 1886 IA

Now it looks more like this:
Louisa Durrett b. 1837 Kentucky or Illinois
married about 1855 to Mr. Rogers
child:
Mabel Rogers b. 1857 Illinois
married next about 1859 to David Wiseman
child:
William Wiseman b. 1861 Kansas
married next to Jacob Huiatt about 1866
children:
Ulysses Grant Huiatt b. 1868 IA
Charles Hampton Huiatt b. 1870 IA
Edward Oscar Huiatt b. 1874 IA
John J. Huiatt b. 1877 IA
Cora L. Huiatt b. 1879 IA
Elmer Ellsworth Huiatt b. 1881 IA
Nellie M. Huiatt b. 1886 IA

Next steps include ordering death certificates for both William Wiseman and Mabel Rogers Dillow.  I also have had a tough time finding most of them in 1880 and earlier censuses.  So the research is not over, but the connection has been established.
